How coaching can help

People come to coaching for a multitude of reasons. They all share a core realisation: they recognise that they need to dedicate time and attention to illuminating their blind spots, to work through what’s getting in their way and that coaching offers them guidance to explore alternatives.

Here are some examples of where clients have used coaching to make changes important to them.

You’re stepping up - and need time to step back

It’s a new role, with new responsibilities, and you have the chance to make your mark.

Aine helped me with some seriously hard work I needed to do on “stepping into my power” in 2019-2020, as I moved into a more active leadership position. Her executive coaching style is never about giving you answers but helping you find them in a way authentic to you, and empowering you to be able to take the steps and decisions you need to deliver for your team and business.
— YT: CEO and co-Founder, Deep Tech / AI industry

You’re in a demanding role and you need headspace.

You’re juggling multiple priorities and demands. You know that you need to stay strategic and adaptable but firefighting is taking your attention from the things that are important to you.

Aine’s clarity, insight and emotional intelligence has been instrumental in helping me to balance and navigate the forces and responsibilities of being, concurrently, CTO of a high-growth startup, Partner at a deep-tech venture builder, and an actual, present husband and father…Her craft skills are in the actual art of coaching: to draw out of you what you need to think about, what you want, what matters to you and how you can achieve it.
— JA: CTO and start up co-founder

You’re managing complex and demanding teams and colleagues.

You’re managing a busy team and working to keep everyone motivated and delivering while also meeting the expectations of your colleagues.

Aine is excellent at directing conversation and clever with her questions.  She is able to challenge your thinking to see other perspectives and the bigger picture while being very supportive and encouraging.  Aine helps keep you focussed and on track so you can achieve / resolve issues in order to minimise the stress which impacts on quality of work  and health and wellbeing.
— CM, third sector leader

You’re feeling stuck.

You’re in a pattern of thinking and responding that isn’t working for you and know that you need to do something differently - but can’t work out what that might look like.

Áine helped me to see things from a different perspective. I believe I had become lost within years of issues, layers of frustration built up over time. Breaking these down into smaller, more manageable, segments allowed me to come up with methods to start and work through these.
— A McK: senior manager, engineering sector

You’re asking ‘what next?’

You’ve been doing a great job and want to make sure that you build on your successes in your next move, using your skills and experiences to create a meaningful, fulfilling role.

I was really able to focus on my own values and developing them by having space to think. Áine asked questions that I needed to really think about. I am so glad I initiated this at the right time for me. It’s helped me prepare for the next step in my career.
